All chocolate is made from the cacao (or cocoa) bean, and cacao beans in their natural, unprocessed, unadulterated state are rich in nutrients and very beneficial to health. Recent published research confirms the substantial nutritional value of dark and raw chocolate. The cacao bean has antioxidants, minerals and healthy oils.
Cacao has more antioxidant flavanoids than any food tested so far, including blueberries, red wine, and black and green teas. In fact, it has up to four times the quantity of antioxidants found in green tea. The essential minerals the beans are rich in include magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron, zinc, copper, potassium and manganese. The healthy oils include oleic acid, a heart-healthy monounsaturated fat, also found in olive oil.
The antioxidants promote cardiovascular health by helping dilate bloods vessels, reducing blood clotting, improving circulation, helping regulate heartbeat and blood pressure, lowering LDL cholesterol, and reducing the risk of stroke and heart attacks. These include Serotonin - which acts as an anti-depressant, helps reduce PMS systems, and promotes a sense of well-being; Endorphins - the secretion of which produces a pleasurable sensation similar to the high a jogger feels after running; Phenylethylamine – which acts as mild mood elevator and anti-depressant, and helps increase focus and alertness.; and Anandamide - known as the “bliss chemical” because it is released by the brain when we are feeling great. Cacao contains both N-acylethanolamines, believed to temporarily increase the levels of anandamide in the brain, and enzyme inhibitors that slow its breakdown. Promotes relaxation, and helps us feel good longer.

How to use the Organic, Raw Cacao nibs
Use 2-3 teaspoons per day. Use more if you love chocolate flavors in your food. Enjoy this nutrient-rich superfood per the following suggestions and use your own "taste buds" to tell you what is enjoyable.
*Eat them as is, chewing them thoroughly.
*Drink a glass of plain, unflavored milk or soy milk while chewing them.
*Sprinkle on cereals using the nibs as is or after grinding them into smaller pieces or a powder
*Mix with yogurt, granola, ice cream or desserts using the nibs as is or after grinding them into smaller pieces or a powder
*Make delicious chocolate shakes and smoothies after grinding them into smaller pieces or a powder
*Grind into a powder and add to tea, coffee and other drinks.
